The Tufts University BLOOM (Belonging, Learning, Opportunity, and Mentoring) Center champions student academic, social, and professional success by fostering an inclusive, equity-driven community through holistic, student-centered programming, intentional mentorship, and strong connections to campus resources. Building on the legacies of the FIRST Resource Center and the Center for STEM Diversity, BLOOM centers the experiences of those who are first-generation, high-financial need, and/or navigating college and/or STEM without a clear roadmap, while welcoming undergraduate students from all backgrounds. BLOOM aims to demystify the hidden curriculum of college and grounds its work in multiple theoretical frameworks, including Community Cultural Wealth (Yosso, 2005) and the Thrive Mosaic Framework (Chapman, 2018). By approaching student development from a multifaceted, asset-based lens, BLOOM uplifts the diverse forms of knowledge, resilience, resources, and capital students bring to their educational journeys, empowering students to reach their full potential.

The Student Life Civic Engagement Ambassador program holds events, shares resources, and creates opportunities for civic engagement. Ambassadors also advance a culture where skills essential for civic engagement—discussing current events analytically, interacting productively with people with whom we disagree, solution-based efforts, and strengthening the ideals and norms of inclusive democracy—are prized.

Mission
In an effort to continuously better ourselves and our community, we as Tufts Greek organizations commit ourselves to three principles:

To foster an accepting community that provides members with a sense of belonging and a tight knit support system.
For members to develop personally and professionally through organizations that promote leadership, character, and integrity.
For the organizations to give back to the Tufts and greater Medford/Somerville communities through their service and involvement.
In order to uphold these three principles, we commit to a process of constant improvement through transparency, accountability, and progressive re-evaluation of our progress towards this mission.

Wellbeing isn’t the job of one office. Instead, wellbeing is threaded through our everyday lives—the places we live, work, play, and study, the friendships that we build, and the choices that we make. The Health Promotion Department builds deep connections with many partners at Tufts to work together to shape a campus where all students can learn, grow, and thrive. This work takes many forms—including collaboration, student-run initiatives, education and engagement, systems change, and much more. Throughout, our core questions remain relatively constant: what do we want—for ourselves, our communities, and each other? How can we work together to get there?

Women's Center (WC) is one of the seven Division of Student Diversity and Inclusion affinity centers. Our mission is to work towards the equality of all people, to claim control over our bodies and lives, to challenge patriarchal power structures, to educate ourselves, and to support and celebrate our achievements. Additionally, the Women’s Center works intentionally to address and end the damaging impacts of an enforced gender binary.

We welcome folks interested in topics and issues broadly related to the experience of women, the impacts of sexism and misogyny, and the role of gender in all of our lives; the Women’s Center mainly investigates gender at the intersections of other identities, such as race, sexuality, class, and citizenship status. We are committed to intersectional feminism, fostering student leadership, and creating spaces to identify and understand societal structures related to power, privilege, and oppression.
